KTC Nieuws 22-23 Nr. 1

Februari 2023
(Scroll down for English)

Beste leden,

WE LOVE A GOOD PLAN
Go KTC!

SAVE THE DATE

JOIN THE TEAM

Basketball is teamsport!’

PROEFTRAINEN?

EYES ON THE BALL

NEWSLETTER 1-2023

Dear members,

There are many positive developments at KTC. The atmosphere is good. In this newsletter you can read more about the upcoming pub quiz, how much fun it is to be a volunteer, our KTC ladies and their coaches and the very successful U10 tournament. In addition, we are currently working on a KTC-wide training plan with which we want to score highly in the coming years. You can also read more about this here. Happy reading and happy holidays,
Frank van Loon, chairman

WE LOVE A GOOD PLAN
KTC is doing well as a basketball association, especially among the youth members! There are many teams, many players, many enthusiastic and committed trainers and coaches, and major steps are being taken in the level of play. In short; we’re going to raise the basket a bit to let everyone benefit from a good, technical base and more opportunities to grow and continue to improve performance. Basketball with as much fun as ever and for everyone, but with a broader perspective for those who want more. We are currently working on a Training & Development Plan. We are assisted by an experienced premier league coach. With this Technical Plan as a basis, we will organize clinics for the trainers and youth members who (will) provide our training sessions. This way we become a stronger family club and who knows, we will be playing nationwide in a few years! Go KTC!

SAVE THE DATE
Saturday 18 March there will be KTC PUBQUIZ from 8 to 00 pm in the Canteen of the Tetterodehal. Sign up as a team of max. 5 people or individually (then you will be added to a team) by sending an app to Charlotte de Vries 06 13 20 40 67. Full = full!

JOIN THE TEAM
No sports association can exist without the voluntary help of players and parents of players. At the moment about 35 people are involved in making training and playing possible. That’s great, but extra hands are always needed. From the party committee to coach, or room service… your help is more than welcome. Hours per week? You certainly don’t have to! You can do something for your club from just an hour a month. You can read how fun and valuable this can be below in an interview with youth trainers Dirk and Alex!
Also want to join volunteer team KTC? Sign up via secretariaat@ktcbasketball.nl

NOTHING IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THIS
KTC player Dirk Duindam and Alex van der Wolk together form the basis of the U12 training sessions and also coach their own child’s team. What drives them to do this?
Dirk: “In any case, basketball is the most beautiful sport there is and I think it’s great to be able to convey that to these children.
Alex: “We grow with our children, because of course you prefer to train your own child’s team, but this age is so much fun. They are studious sponges and we literally see the development. Not only in sports, but also socially The fun comes first, that is our starting point in every training. This positive philosophy of KTC also appealed to me personally.”
Dirk: But besides having fun, we also want to train technically good basketball players. Via KTC I follow the trainers training BT3. There is also a lot of pedagogy involved. We are involved in the Training & Development Plan and are already looking forward to the clinics and the results!”
Alex: “We have a great team of (auxiliary) coaches and trainers for the U10 and U12. We are all in a busy phase of life, but many hands make light work. With 1.5 hours a month you really contribute. the parents who come to the table, great When you learn the rules, watching matches is even more fun.
Dirk: “And we have a lot of help from older youth players. Fantastic! But you really don’t have to be a basketball player to become a volunteer. Try it! It’s great fun to see your child playing sports. And it’s important to do your part wear. Basketball is a team sport!’

TRIAL TRAINING? ON THE WAITING LIST!
The fact that the youth teams are doing so well also has a disadvantage… at the moment there is a large waiting list for children who want to test train or register, especially up to and including the U14. We hope to give everyone the opportunity to play basketball and that is why we strongly ask not to bring friends (of your children) who are not members to a training, not even for an introduction. It’s well-meaning, but it’s not fair to the patient watchmen. Whether there is room for trial training is determined by the trainer and registration for the waiting list goes via ledenadministratie@ktcbasketball.nl Thank you!

KTC LADIES
Yes, that’s what they call themselves! Returning veterans, new members and young players form our new Women’s team this season. Together with their trainer/coach Bea Lie-A-Tjam and substitute coach Songkie Lie, they are working hard to find their form. That does not happen automatically, because the team has four different levels of play, but there is enough fanaticism and fun. The U18 girls also regularly join the team. And that’s exactly how Bea likes it!
Substitute coach Songkie is also pleased with the enthusiasm of the players. “Great that there is a women’s team again! KTC has a great history in women’s basketball and they complete the club. Whether the training of women is different from men’s? happy to help make a close and strong team!”

IS THERE A FIRST AIDER IN THE ROOM?
Accidents happen. Fortunately, KTC has many qualified first aiders among its members. We like to know who has that diploma. If necessary, we may be able to call on you. Do you have a first aid certificate? Please let us know at secretariaat@ktcbasketball.nl Thank you!

U10 TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, February 11, the annual KTC U10 Tournament was held. No less than 21 teams from North Holland came to the Tetterodehal for 3 against 3 matches. They defended fanatically, sat fiercely on the ball and scored nicely. Moreover, there was plenty of fun and lots of laughter. A wonderfully sporty and fun tournament for these youngest basketball players, for whom it is often their first competition experience. Thanks to all volunteers for the help and especially our U16 players, who accompanied the games and whistled for the first time!

EYES ON THE BALL
New match balls have been purchased. Clearly recognizable, because it says ‘Game Ball’. They are therefore only intended for competitions. Let’s be careful with these balls. Do you have whistle or table service? Then keep the ball with you during half time and give it to the person who has hall duty after the game. That way we all always have a good ball!

KTC Nieuws dec 2022

Beste leden,

IN VERTROUWEN

Dankjewel!

NEWSLETTER DEC 2022

Dear members,
The first part of this basketball season is already over. We look back on fun and exciting competitions. Nice victories, a painful defeat here and there, because that is also part of it, and two winter champions! Our referee training program has started again and it is already bearing fruit; the first new diplomas have arrived! We have also started looking for subsidies and sponsorship. Successfully! You can read more about it in this newsletter.
Have a nice Christmas and see you in the new year!
Frank van Loon, chairman

CHAMPIONS
The first half of the youth competition has been played and that has resulted in two undefeated Winter champions at KTC! “It was a good first half for our youth teams, both for the beginners and the more advanced,” said Youth Coordinator Jan Maarten Boissevain. “The boys of U14-1 played great (with many monster scores) and are deserved champions! The girls of VU18-1 also shot undefeated to the top position in their competition and are promoted to the A-class after the winter break. Congratulations Champions, trainers and coaches! And all teams: on to the new season!”

LIVING LEGEND
This year ‘our’ Bea Lie-A-Tjam has been proclaimed and honored by the NBB as ‘Local Living Legend’. A very deserved honorary title for this great little woman, who means so much to (youth) basketball. KTC couldn’t do without her (and luckily not Bea without KTC)! We are proud!

EVERYONE IS WELCOME
KTC is known for a good and sporty atmosphere in the hall. We would like to keep it that way and visibly propagate it by placing our ‘house rules’ on banners. We put up three of these banners on match days. Interested in sponsoring this positive project? You can, with or without your company logo! You will receive more information about the possibilities from Robin via sponsorcommissie@ktcbasketball.nl
For the Sponsor Committee we are looking for enthusiastic people with good ideas to help KTC move forward, both through sponsorship and subsidies. We have already started and recently received an amount of 250 euros from Meerlandenfonds! We think that more should be possible. Is the Sponsor Committee really something for you? Sign In!

BAM! 857.76 Euros is the great proceeds of the Big Club promotion 2022!
The youth teams have clearly done their best to sell as many raffle tickets as possible and we use this extra money to get to know our youth members better off the field. How? By giving them a free ice cream in the cafeteria after their home game. Let’s chat and maybe watch another team’s game… Small contact moments that can be of great value.
(The competition ice creams are for youth up to and including U18 and as long as the budget lasts)
Bought lottery tickets? Don’t forget to check the results on the official site

SOUGHT
We are looking for cheerful types who like to think up and carry out festive activities at KTC. Do you want to be part of the Party Committee? Send a message to Robin Vreugdenhil.
Unfortunately, it’s not always a party; Accidents can happen while playing basketball. If you are a member of KTC and in possession of a first aid diploma, we would like to know. Perhaps we can use your knowledge or we can call on you if necessary. If you are a first aid worker, let Hiske van Kamperdijk know. Thank you!

TRAINING DURING THE HOLIDAYS
During the school holidays from 23-12 to 9-1 there is no training, with the exception of Thursday 29 December and Thursday 5 January. Then you can train according to this schedule:
5.30 pm to 6.30 pm: U10 and U12
6.30 pm to 8 pm: U14 to U18
8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.: Seniors
We don’t know if trainers will be present, so (parental) supervision may be required for the youngest members.

STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL
KTC has its own confidential adviser. Who you can address with questions, concerns or a complaint about someone within the club. What you discuss is confidential and you will remain anonymous. In recent years, Anouk Peters has been our confidant. Her task has been taken over by Madeleine Groetelaars. Thank you Anouk, for all your good care for KTC’ers!
“Hello, my name is Madeleine Groetelaars (45 years old), mother of Caspar (U18) and Juliette (U14). I am a specialized pulmonary medicine nurse and work in the Spaarne Gasthuis and from now on also available as a confidential adviser within KTC. So are you somewhere or do you need help or advice in any other way? Call, email or app me, and of course everything we discuss remains between us. You can find my details here on the website.”

SIDE JOB IN THE TETTERODE HALL
The owners of the Tetterodehal are urgently looking for employees.
Saturday morning (for the next few months): cleaners for the hall, ahead of our competition. That’s a total of about 2 hours of work for two people (or 4 hours alone). Maybe nice pocket money for a few youth members? Pretty fun and it’s also good for the club.
In addition, they are looking for permanent staff for day shifts (8 a.m.-4 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays) or in the evenings (4 p.m.-11 p.m., on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays). Activities are general catering and cleaning / management. Think of serving coffee, tapping beer, handing out keys, sticking plasters, etc. and light cleaning during services. You can also take one fixed day / evening of course.
If you are interested, please contact bas@tetterodesportcomplex.nl

Finally: many balls have disappeared from the hall in recent months. A good basketball is precious and always replenishing it costs us as a club just too much money! We will enforce stricter use on match days and if you – or your teammate – have accidentally brought a ball, please bring it back! For now, we will not ask any questions about that. Thank you!

(Scroll down for English)

Beste leden,

KTC BLIJFT IN EIGEN HAL

NEWSLETTER 10-2022

Dear members,
The basketball season is now in full swing and we started the first weekend remarkably well: with resounding victories from almost all KTC teams!
Good news also about our location. The continued commitment to keep our trusted Tetterodehal as a permanent location for KTC has paid off! We would like to thank all members involved for their support! Below you can read what it means for KTC. You will also find information about digital dining and you will receive an update of the Grote Clubactie. You can still buy lottery tickets all month long. Good for the sport and good for our beautiful club!
Frank van Loon, chairman

KTC STAYS IN OWN HALL
You can’t have missed it: there was an extremely uncertain situation about being able to continue training and playing in the Tetterodehal. After much consultation with the landlord, the municipality and fellow tenants, there was a proposal for a new contract. With the approval of the GMM on September 21 about the contribution increase that the proposal entailed, we were done. We are relieved, happy and proud to announce that a new lease agreement with the Tetterodehal has recently been signed! Moreover, the landlord has accommodated us by lowering the previously proposed rent increase. After this season we are assured of another 10 years of KTC in our beautiful hall! (The entire report of the GMM on 21 can be read on this site.)

SUPPORT KTC AND WIN
KTC is again participating in the Grote Clubactie: the annual lottery for associations to strengthen their income. And you can bet that this is welcome! The ticket sale started at the end of September by our youth teams up to U16. The best thing is of course to buy your tickets from these heroes, but it is also possible online and you support KTC just as well. Did you know that no less than 2.40 of every ticket of 3 euros goes directly into the club greenhouse?! Money that we can put to good use. Buying lottery tickets is also interesting for yourself, because there is 100,000 euros, a car, a kitchen and much more to win! You can buy the paper tickets from our youth members until December 5. Online tickets are for sale until November 21. The draw is on December 6. Immediately score some (extra) tickets? Go to the official site and don’t forget to select KTC as the club. Thank you and good luck!

THE MEMBERS ADMINISTRATION
We are pleased to introduce you to Marit Blom, our new member administrator. She recently took over this position from Stephane Châtel. Marit plays in Ladies 1 and the nice thing is that she has the same trainer/coach there as when she played basketball at KTC as a teenager; Bea Lie-A-Tjam. Marit has two sons and the oldest of five can’t wait to join the mini-dunkers!
For questions about your membership or the Basketball.nl app, Marit can be reached via ledenadministratie@ktcbestuur.nl

KTC owes a lot to Stephane Châtel. Not only has he been responsible for the membership administration for the past year and a half, over the years Stephane has been an enthusiastic and valuable board member in many positions. Thanks for (once again) your commitment to KTC, Stephane!

ALL AT THE TABLE!
And we mean the match table. Keeping track of time and scores is therefore called ’tafelen’. The Tafelaars are indispensable for a good, sporty and fun match. You always tafel together; one operates the clock, the other uses the tablet and the user-friendly app. For those who are new to this (such as the parents of the U12 and U14), or who want to know more about it, there is a link on our site to a youtube instruction video. This explains what must be entered on the digital competition form and how. A printed manual is always on the table and there are plenty of people in the hall who can help if you have any questions. Do you have a taste and want to help in more competitions? Welcome!

AUTUMN BREAK
The schools will have their fall break next week, which means no training for all teams, including the seniors from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 October. Take your rest and come back stronger!
