Beste leden,
Allereerst een gezond, gelukkig en sportief 2024 gewenst! De eerste seizoenshelft ligt al achter ons. We hebben goed gespeeld en lekker getraind, ondanks het gemis van een derde veld. De planning was een hele puzzel, maar mede door flexibiliteit van een aantal teams en coaches is het toch gelukt! Inmiddels is het ritme gevonden en gaan we met een goed gevoel de tweede seizoenshelft in. Een goed gevoel kregen we ook van het Wintertoernooi begin december. Wat een opkomst en wat een enthousiasme! Het geeft mooi weer hoe verbindend een sportvereniging kan zijn. En dat een club niet zonder vrijwilligers kan. Complimenten voor de hele crew!  Veel plezier in de tweede seizoenshelft!

LET’S PLAY BALL
Er wordt alweer volop getraind, de nieuwe poule-indelingen zijn gemaakt en dit weekend zijn de eerste wedstrijden van de tweede seizoenshelft! De complete wedstrijdplanning vind je de Basketball.nl app. 
Het volledige zaaldienstrooster is gedeeld via de trainers en staat op de KTC website. Check en noteer je zaaldiensten, want er wordt op je gerekend!

KAMPIOENEN & STRIJDERS
SHOUT OUT naar de spelers en de staf van VU201! De meiden werden onder training en coaching van Jan Maarten, Vincent en Bea in de eerste seizoenshelft ongeslagen Winterkampioen! BAM!
Andere KTC teams die opvielen in de jeugdcompetitie zijn X121; die de 2e plaats pakte in een poule met maar liefst 12 teams, en M201 die met slechts 4 puntjes verschil van de nr. 1 de 3e plek wist te halen in een pittige poule met bijna allemaal U22 spelers! Echte strijders!

WINTERTOERNOOI
Het KTC Wintertoernooi op zondag 10 december was fantastisch geslaagd! Eerst hebben de jongste leden gespeeld om sportiviteit-prijzen. Vervolgens namen de oudere kids het tegen elkaar op in een onderling toernooi. Er werd fanatiek gebald en gestreden voor de overwinning. Toen het erom ging, was de spanning om te snijden! De senioren hebben het toernooi sportief en gezellig afgesloten. De hotdogs, bekers, bitterballen en biertjes maakten de heerlijke dag compleet!
De feestcommissie wil alle deelnemers en vrijwilligers nogmaals heel erg bedanken!

CLUBACTIE WINNAARS
De grote Clubactie heeft bijna € 500,- opgeleverd voor ons wintertoernooi. Alle leden die loten hebben verkocht, krijgen een grote pluim!
Het team met het hoogste aantal verkochte loten is U12 en daarmee hebben zij een lekkere taart verdiend!
De meeste loten – maar liefst 61 stuks! – zijn verkocht door Hiro Duindam! Een mooie tweede plaats is voor Sepp Hilberts, die 26 loten verkocht! 
Geweldig gedaan jongens, bedankt en gefeliciteerd!

KOM HELPEN BIJ KTC
We hebben gelukkig veel leuke en goede vrijwilligers bij KTC, maar er zijn nog steeds extra handen nodig om de allerleukste basketbalclub te zijn en te blijven! Helpen bij KTC kan ook als je geen basketbal ervaring hebt, of niet meer dan een paar uur per maand wil besteden! Wil je ook een bijdrage leveren? Dear members,

First of all, we wish you a healthy, happy and sporty 2024! The first half of the season is already behind us. We played well and trained well, despite the lack of a third field. The planning was quite a puzzle, but thanks to the flexibility of a number of teams and coaches, we succeeded! The rhythm has now been found and we are entering the second half of the season with a good feeling. We also got a good feeling from the Winter Tournament at the beginning of December. What a turnout and what enthusiasm! It clearly shows how connecting a sports club can be. And that a club cannot function without volunteers. Compliments to the entire crew!

The full Zaaldienst-schedule has been shared via the trainers and is on the KTC website. Check and record your room shifts, because you are being counted on!

CHAMPIONS & WARRIORS
SHOUT OUT to the players and staff of VU201! Under the training and coaching of Jan Maarten, Vincent and Bea, the girls became undefeated Winter Champions in the first half of the season! BAM!
Other KTC teams that stood out in the youth competition are X121; who took 2nd place in a group with no less than 12 teams, and M201 who managed to take 3rd place with only 4 points difference from number 1 in a tough group with almost all U22 players! Real fighters!

WINTER TOURNAMENT
The KTC Winter Tournament on Sunday, December 10 was a fantastic success! First the youngest members played for sportsmanship prizes. The older kids then competed against each other in a mutual tournament. There was a lot of fanatic fighting and fighting for the victory. When it came down to it, the tension was palpable! The seniors concluded the tournament in a sporty and enjoyable manner. The hot dogs, cups, bitterballen and beers completed the wonderful day!
The party committee would like to thank all participants and volunteers again!

CLUBACTIE WINNERS
The Grote Clubactie campaign raised almost €500 for our winter tournament. All members who sold raffle tickets get a big compliment!
The team with the highest number of raffle tickets sold is U12 and they have earned a delicious cake!
The most lottery tickets – no less than 61 pieces! – were sold by Hiro Duindam! A nice second place goes to Sepp Hilberts, who sold 26 raffle tickets!
Great job guys, thanks and congratulations!

Fortunately, we have many nice and good volunteers at KTC, but extra hands are still needed to be and remain the best basketball club! Beste leden,
Hopelijk heeft iedereen een mooie zomer gehad en kijken jullie, net als wij, uit naar het nieuwe basketbal seizoen. Vlak voor de zomer hadden wij de jaarlijkse ALV en daar hebben penningmeester Lindy van Kats en secretaris Hiske van Kamperdijk hun functie overgedragen aan twee nieuwe bestuursleden. Lindy heeft de afgelopen jaren geweldig werk verricht voor KTC, waarvoor wij haar niet genoeg kunnen bedanken! Hiske had graag nog langer bij KTC willen blijven, maar is met haar gezin verhuisd naar Zutphen. Beiden nogmaals enorm bedankt! Benieuwd wie de nieuwe bestuursleden zijn? Je leest het in deze Nieuwsbrief. Verder lees je alles over onze nieuwe trainingslocatie en het komende seizoen. De eerste wedstrijddag maken we extra feestelijk met een ‘KTC Kick-off borrel’. LET’S GO
Op maandag 4 september start het nieuwe seizoen! De eerste twee weken wordt er alleen getraind. Zaterdag 16 september is de eerste wedstrijddag van onze competitie 23-24! Verderop in de Nieuwsbrief lees je meer over de wedstrijdschema’s. 

KTC KICK-OFF BORREL
Zaterdag 16 september (de eerste wedstrijddag) is er een seizoen Kick-Off borrel in de Tetterodehal kantine vanaf 20 uur. Een drankje is voor eigen rekening, KTC zorgt voor de snacks en hapjes! Graag tot dan!

TRAINING
Het trainingsschema voor het komende seizoen staat op de website. Nieuw is onze locatie InHolland. Deze moderne sportzaal (met splinternieuwe vloer) gebruiken wij op de maandag voor spelers vanaf U18, omdat de Tetterodehal vanaf dit seizoen geen drie maar twee basketbalvelden heeft. Tijdens de zomervakantie is de hal verkleind, om plaats te kunnen bieden aan alle activiteiten die er in het Tetterode sportcomplex plaatsvinden. Tegenover deze vermindering van velden staan ruimere speel- en trainingstijden voor KTC. En met de zeer goed bereikbare extra locatie kunnen alle teams goed uit de voeten.
Het adres van de InHolland locatie is Blijdorplaan 15, 2015 CE Haarlem. De sporthal bevindt zich in een aparte ruimte naast het grote schoolgebouw, aan de kant van station Overveen.

OUDERBIJEENKOMST
Voor ouders (verzorgers of begeleiders) van de U12 en U14 spelers hebben wij de Ouderbijeenkomst op woensdag 6 (U12) en donderdag 7 september (U14) van 17.30 tot 18.45 uur. Het is de bedoeling dat op deze dagen per kind één ouder meekomt naar de training, op de dag en het tijdstip van de training van uw kind. Graag tot dan!

BASKETBALL.NL
De nieuwe wedstrijd schema’s vind je in Basketball.nl, de handige en gratis app van Sportlink en de Nederlandse Basketbal Bond. Wist je dat het voor wedstrijdspelers verplicht is om een duidelijke, recente foto van jezelf in de app te plaatsen bij je profiel? De club krijgt zelfs een boete als deze ontbreekt! Je foto kan je tot 25 september zelf aanpassen, net als je overige persoonlijke gegevens en je privacy-level. Mag iedereen je gegevens zien? Prima! Houd je deze gegevens (van je kind) liever afgeschermd? Ook goed. Wat je ook kiest, de scheidsrechters en de coach van je team hebben altijd inzicht, omdat ze de gegevens gebruiken voor de teamindeling en/of de wedstrijd-gegevens.  
Sportlink gebruik je ook bij het tafelen van wedstrijden op de KTC tablets. Een handige instructievideo  vind je op de KTC site.

NIEUWE BESTUURSLEDEN
Het KTC bestuur bestaat uit zeven mensen en twee daarvan zijn net begonnen in hun vrijwillige functie als Bestuurslid: Bima Malabonga als Penningmeester en Hadewich Richter als Secretaris.
Bima is Zwitsers en voor zijn werk naar Nederland verhuisd. Hij basketbalt al sinds zijn jeugd en versterkt nu ons Heren 1 team. Bima werkt in de Financiële wereld en de functie als penningmeester is hem daarmee zeker toevertrouwd.
Hadewich heeft een zoon die basketbalt bij KTC in de U12 en werkt als projectmanager in de evenementenbranche, waar zij besturen ondersteunt bij het structureren van processen. Daarnaast is Hadewich docent bij InHolland Haarlem (studie Creative Business). Zij houdt ervan als zaken goed lopen en dat maakt haar tot de juiste persoon voor ons secretariaat. Welkom Hadewich en Bima!

Zonder vrijwilligers geen KTC Basketball! Wil je (af en toe) een wedstrijd fluiten, dan help je ons enorm. Meld je aan via wedstrijdsecretaris@ktcbasketball.nl

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE MONEY
Onze kosten stijgen flink. Gelukkig zijn er steeds meer potjes voor subsidies en giften. Ook neemt de populariteit van basketbal toe en dat maakt het voor bedrijven interessant om te sponsoren! KTC zou enorm geholpen zijn met een of twee personen die op zoek gaan naar extra inkomsten naast de contributie. No worries: je bepaalt zelf hoeveel tijd je hierin steekt en wanneer. Dear members,
Hopefully everyone had a nice summer and you, like us, are looking forward to the new basketball season. Just before the summer we had the annual ALV and treasurer Lindy van Kats and secretary Hiske van Kamperdijk handed over their position to two new board members. Lindy has done an amazing job for KTC over the years, for which we can’t thank her enough! Hiske would have liked to stay longer at KTC, but moved to Zutphen with her family. Thanks again to both of you! Curious who the new board members are? You can read it in this Newsletter. You can also read all about our new training location and the upcoming season. KTC KICK-OFF BORREL
Saturday 16 September (the first day of competition) there will be a season Kick-Off drink in the Tetterodehal canteen from 8 pm. A drink is for your own account, KTC provides the snack and snacks! See you then!

TRAINING
The training schedule for the coming season is on the website. Our location InHolland is new. We use this modern sports hall (with brand new floor) on Mondays for players from U18, because from this season the Tetterodehal will have two basketball courts instead of three. During the summer holidays, the hall was reduced in size to accommodate all the activities that take place in the Tetterode sports complex. In contrast to this reduction in fields, there are longer playing and training times for KTC. And with the very easily accessible extra location, all teams can work well.
The address of the InHolland location is Blijdorplaan 15, 2015 CE Haarlem. The sports hall is located in a separate room next to the large school building, on the side of Overveen station.

PARENT MEETING
For parents (guardians or supervisors) of the U12 and U14 players we have the Parent Meeting on Wednesday 6 (U12) and Thursday 7 September (U14) from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm. On these days, one parent per child is intended to come to the training, on the day and time of your child’s training. See you then!

BASKETBALL.NL
The new match schedules can be found in Basketball.nl, the handy and free app from Sportlink and the Dutch Basketball Association. Did you know that it is mandatory for competitive players to post a clear, recent photo of yourself in the app with your profile? The club will even be fined if it is missing! You can adjust your photo yourself until September 25, just like your other personal details and your privacy level. Can everyone see your data? Fine! Would you rather keep this information (of your child) protected? Also ofine. Whichever you choose, the referees and coach of your team always have insight, because they use the data for team allocation and/or match data.
You can also use Sportlink to table matches on the KTC tablets. You can also find this handy instruction video on the KTC site.

NEW BOARD MEMBERS
The KTC Board consists of seven people and two of them have just started their voluntary role as Board members: Bima Malabonga as Treasurer and Hadewich Richter as Secretary.
Bima is Swiss and moved to the Netherlands for his work. He has been playing basketball since childhood and is now strengthening our Men’s 1 team. Bima works in the financial world and the position of treasurer is certainly entrusted to him.
Hadewich has a son who plays basketball at KTC in the U12 and works as a project manager in the events industry, where she supports boards in structuring processes. In addition, Hadewich is a lecturer at InHolland Haarlem (study Creative Business). She likes things to run smoothly and that makes her the right person for our secretariat. Welcome Hadewich and Bima!

Beste leden,
We hebben er een prachtig seizoen op zitten. De U18 dames werden kampioen en U14-1 speelt op 6 mei een beslissende wedstrijd op neutraal terrein met bondsscheidsrechters. Dat belooft een spannende game te worden! Het jaar is feestelijk afgesloten met het best bezochte KTC familietoernooi ooit. Eén groot feest met een groots moment voor Bea! Wat een geweldenaar hebben we toch in ons midden. Ik denk dat ik voor iedereen spreek als ik haar nog eens enorm bedank voor alle energie en goede ideeën die ze ons al jaren geeft en hopelijk nog lang blijft geven! 
Over een maand gaat de schep de grond in bij onze geliefde Tetterodehal. Dan gaan we definitief terug naar twee velden, omdat het veld aan de kant van de parkeerplaats verdwijnt. De druk die dat legt op trainingstijden proberen we te verzachten door extra capaciteit bij te huren. Daarover zijn de gesprekken in volle gang. Dit gaat uiteraard allemaal in overleg met de trainers. 
Rest mij om alle vrijwilligers enorm te bedanken en iedereen een mooie zomer te wensen. Hopelijk zien we elkaar op de ALV en anders tot in het nieuwe seizoen!

FEESTELIJK ROTI TOERNOOI
Het KTC familietoernooi op zondag 16 april was een groot succes! Ruim 140 enthousiaste deelnemers, een top organisatie en vrijwilligersteam, heerlijke roti en als extra verrassing een bezoek van NBB bestuurslid Jitka van der Bruggen die KTC’s Bea Lie-A-Tjam de NBB Bondsspeld kwam overhandigen. Voor deze eervolle Bondsspeld kom je in aanmerking als je (en wij citeren de NBB) een onderscheidende bijdrage hebt geleverd aan de basketbalsport en nationaal of internationaal actief bent (geweest) als speler, coach, bestuurder, scheidrechter of betrokkene en meer dan tien jaar actief bent of was in de basketbalsport. KTC’s Bea was en is dat allemaal en nog veel meer! Wat ons betreft verdient niemand deze eretitel meer dan Bea! En gezien het grote aantal (oud) basketballers dat aanwezig was om Bea te feliciteren zijn we niet de enigen!
Ook heel feestelijk was de Kampioens-huldiging van ons VU18-team! 100% winst, BAM! Trots op onze meiden en hun trainers en coaches! Tot slot maakte KTC’s chefkok Stef heerlijke roti! 

ZOMERTRAINING
Na woensdag 26 april zijn de gewone trainingen afgelopen voor dit seizoen, maar vanaf maandag 1 mei starten de zomertrainingen. Voor € 20,- kun je meedoen aan elke training voor jouw leeftijdsgroep volgens het schema dat binnenkort wordt rondgestuurd en op de website komt.
Lekker meetrainen? Betaal dan het tikkie dat in de appgroepen wordt gestuurd, of stuur een bericht aan onze penningmeester.

ALLEEN MAAR TEAMPLAYERS
Fanatiek, serieus en vooral heel hecht, dat zijn de jongens van het U16-1 team volgens Stathis Chatziandreau en Marc Selhorst. Samen trainen en coachen ze dit team, dat in december nog winterkampioen werd. Het tweede deel waren de resultaten minder, maar het spel niet!
“De eerste seizoenshelft wonnen we in de 2e klasse bijna elke wedstrijd”, aldus Stathis. “Maar sinds onze promotie naar de 3e klasse waren de tegenstanders een maatje te groot. Soms letterlijk, want onze jongens zijn nog jong. We verliezen soms met een paar puntjes, soms met meer, maar er wordt nu wel veel serieuzer en fanatieker gespeeld dan toen het zo makkelijk ging.” “Klopt helemaal!”, vult Marc aan. “Dit team is zo lekker en sportief aan het spelen. We trainen ze al vanaf de U12 en je ziet ze een enorme en positieve ontwikkeling doormaken. Dit team kent geen ‘sterspelers’. Het zijn echte teamplayers en het mooie is dat ze volgend jaar ook allemaal door willen en in hetzelfde team willen blijven.”
Stathis: “Ze vormen liever samen de MU18-2, dan dat er een paar jongens naar het eerste gaan en het team wordt opgesplitst. Dat is mooi. Wij blijven ze volgend jaar ook trainen en coachen. Dan gaan we vooral werken aan onze aanval. Onze defense staat als een huis, en met een sterkere aanval gaan die punten ook weer komen. Niet dat de jongens dit seizoen hun koppie hebben laten hangen, maar winst is fijn!”. “Ja, vooral voor Stathis en mij”, lacht Marc. “de technische staf had meer moeite met het verlies dan de spelers… Volgend jaar gaan we weer knallen!” 

UITNODIGING ALV
De jaarlijkse Algemene Ledenvergadering is op woensdag 7 juni om 20.00 uur in de kantine van de Tetterodehal. Iedereen is welkom en we hopen je te zien, Meer informatie volgt, maar zet de KTC ALV alvast in je agenda!

GA JE ONS VERLATEN?
Kan of wil je na de zomer niet meer trainen en/of spelen bij KTC, vergeet dan niet om voor 1 mei je lidmaatschap op te zeggen!
Na deze datum is KTC al verplicht om voor alle ingeschreven leden bondscontributie af te dragen aan de NBB. Dit betekent dat wij niet anders kunnen dan een halfjaar contributie in rekening te brengen bij een te late opzegging (na 1-5-2023). Opzeggen kan bij onze Ledenadministratie op ledenadministratie@ktcbasketball.nl

BIG SHOTS MINI CAMP
Vakantietip voor onze jongste basketballers (van 7 tot 12 jaar): het Big Shots Mini Camp van 22 t/m 25 juli bij OG Haarlem. Veel plezier hebben en een betere basketballer worden, dat staat op het programma tijdens deze dagen van 9.30 tot 16.30 uur. Dear members,
We’ve had a wonderful season. The U18 ladies became champions and U14-1 will play a decisive match on May 6 on neutral ground with national referees. That promises to be an exciting game! The year ended festively with the best-attended KTC family tournament ever. One big party with a big moment for Bea! What a tyrant we have in our midst. I think I speak for everyone when I thank her once again for all the energy and good ideas she has been giving us for years and hopefully will continue to give us for a long time to come!
In a month the shovel will go into the ground at our beloved Tetterodehal. Then we definitely go back to two fields, because the field on the side of the parking lot disappears. We try to alleviate the pressure that this puts on training times by renting extra capacity. Discussions on this are in full swing. This is of course all in consultation with the trainers.
Last but not least to thank all volunteers very much and wish everyone a nice summer. Hopefully we will see each other at the ALV and otherwise see you in the new season!

FESTIVE ROTI TOURNAMENT
The KTC family tournament on Sunday April 16 was a great success! More than 140 enthusiastic participants, a top organization and volunteer team, delicious roti and as an extra surprise a visit from NBB board member Jitka van der Bruggen who came to present KTC’s Bea Lie-A-Tjam with the NBB Bondsspeld. You are eligible for this honorable National Badge if you (and we quote the NBB) have made a distinctive contribution to the sport of basketball and are (or have been) active nationally or internationally as a player, coach, director, referee or involved person and have been active for more than ten years are or were in the sport of basketball. KTC’s Bea was and is all that and more! As far as we are concerned, no one deserves this honorary title more than Bea! And given the large number of (former) basketball players who were present to congratulate Bea, we are not the only ones!
The Championship Ceremony of our VU18 team was also very festive! 100% profit, BAM! Proud of our girls and their trainers and coaches! Finally, KTC’s chef Stef made delicious roti!

SUMMER TRAINING
After Wednesday, April 26, the regular training sessions are over for this season, but the summer training sessions will start from Monday, May 1. For € 20,- you can participate in any training for your age group according to the schedule that will be circulated soon and will be on the website.

ONLY TEAM PLAYERS
Fanatic, serious and above all very close, those are the boys of the U16-1 team according to Stathis Chatziandreau and Marc Selhorst. Together they train and coach this team, which became winter champion in December. The second part, the results were less, but the game was not!
“We won almost every match in the 2nd division in the first half of the season,” said Stathis. “But since our promotion to the 3rd division, the opponents were a size too big. Sometimes literally, because our boys are still young. We sometimes lose with a few points, sometimes with more, but now we play much more seriously and fanatically than when it was so easy.” “That’s right!”, Marc adds. “This team is playing so well and sportingly. We have been training them since the U12 and you see them go through an enormous and positive development. This team has no ‘star players’. They are real team players and the great thing is that they will be next year want to continue and stay on the same team.”
Stathis: “They would rather form the MU18-2 together than a few guys go to the first and the team is split up. That’s great. We will continue to train and coach them next year. Then we will mainly work on our attack Our defense is solid as a house, and with a stronger attack those points will come again. If you can’t or don’t want to train and/or play at KTC after the summer, don’t forget to cancel your membership before May 1!
After this date, KTC is already obliged to pay a contribution to the NBB for all registered members. This means that we have no choice but to charge half a year’s contribution in the event of late cancellation (after 5/1/2023). You can cancel at our Member Administration  at ledenadministratie@ktcbasketball.nl

BIG SHOTS MINI CAMP
Holiday tip for our youngest basketball players (aged 7 to 12): the Big Shots Mini Camp from 22 to 25 July at OG Haarlem. Have fun and become a better basketball player, that’s on the program during these days from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
